We finally made it to the market folks had been looking forward to for a bit, it was post-holiday season and we were ready to go! Right Brain Brewery had just opened their kitchen, we had a lot of returning vendors and a handful of new faces.
This was our first FULL DAY market and we weren't sure how traffic would flow throughout the day. Luckily, it was a little slow right at opening, so we could all finish setting up, although we had people waiting to get in right at 11 am. Traffic really started to pick up noon and on, it was finally a warm day, unlike the previous Hel-like temperatures we had been experiencing.
Around 3-4 pm, traffic was picking up, and lots of pints were poured and Right Brain had sold so many pizzas they couldn't keep up with thawing the locally sourced dough. It was a blast, it was a great gathering of folks who don't necessarily always get to hang out and chat.
Things started to cool down, pretty quickly and the roads iced over. We have some vendors that make a trek from out of town so some started packing up early, for everyone's safety we wrapped up 2 hours early at 8 pm. We are taking a couple of weeks for a break, but planning will be underway for our next Spring market. We also had Liza from She Wolf Photo Co. geeking out with us and shooting a ton of photos for us.
THE OTHER REALLY COOL THING THAT HAPPENED:
Oh, you’re still here? Kept reading? Nice. Guess that means you’re one of the cool ones.
So, check it—we’ve got this rad little group going called Monsters Unreel, and if you’re into classic monster flicks, you’re gonna wanna pay attention. We had our first meet-up at Oakwood Burgers on 8th St. They’ve got this killer lounge-like, perfect-for-watching-ghouls-tear-it-up kinda perfect. Setting up the projector took a little trial and error, but we got it working. And boom—about 14 of us hung out, geeked out, ate some burgers, had some drinks, and had a blast. Also, see 10 movies with us and get a pretty cool souvenir to show you're one of the true Unreeled
And the best part? We’re doing it again. February 19th. Same deal—free to attend, just a bunch of movie nerds watching the best monster flicks from the 80s and 90s. At 6 pm meet up for burgers, drinks, and chats and at 7 pm the horror show begins.
So, if that sounds like your kinda scene, lock down your spot and join us.
Or y’know, don’t… but then you’d be missing out. Just sayin’.
